-How to make a Screen Shot-

What is a screen shot? A screen shot is a captured image of a webpage, something else on the computer (a game), or even TV. Usually used for tutorials and other things on helpful websites. Another example of what you would use screen shots for is to archive a layout of your website when you get a new one. That way, future visitors can see past layouts of your site. This tutorial will not cover how to make TV screen shots, however.

Okay, first you want to locate the "Print Screen" button on your keyboard. It is usually in between the word-pad and the number pad, and is above your arrow keys. On the key, there may be an abbreviation of the words "print screen," so instead it would say "Prt Srn" or something near that, depending on which type of keyboard you have.

All right, hopefully you have found the key, (button if you wish), that I am talking about. So, when you get to the website, or page, or game, or part of the game....basically, whatever it is you want to screen-capture, you press the "Print Screen" key/button.

Next you open up an image/graphics program. You can use Paint, but as far as I know it doesn't have a "crop" option so it won't help you much. I would recommend using Paint Shop Pro, which can be found here.

So anyway, once you have some sort of graphics program open, you hit Ctrl + V, or right click and click on paste.

Once your screen shot has been pasted in your graphics program, you can crop out anything you don't want in the picture (Example: The thing you want a screen shot of is relatively small and in the center of the image, but the browser is in the picture, too. You would want to crop out anything around the relatively small image.

Next thing, once you have finished doing any cropping or anything, is to SAVE the image. Don't ever forget to save things because it means you'll have to do it all over again.
