You've made a guild layout, some other image, or just have an image on your computer you want to use on the Internet. Now what do I do? You have to UPLOAD it, which means put it on the Internet so others can see it. First of all you have to make sure the image you have is in either .gif or .jpg format. If you used Paint to create this image, this is not possible and you need a professional graphics program to convert the image from Paint's .bmp to either the .gif or .jpg format. I use Jasc Paint Shop Pro, which you can get a free 30-day trial of at jasc.com
How to upload an image to the Internet:
  1. You go to a free host such as photobucket.com (one of the best free ones ever), fortunecity.com or t35.com
  2. Sign up for an account.
  3. Log in (Make sure you go to the email address you signed up with and get the Activation code!)
  4. Go to the file manager (if you used t35.com, when you log in it automatically goes to the file manager)
  5. Scroll to the bottom of the page.
  6. Click 'Browse' in the area where you upload files.
  7. Find the name of your image.
  8. Click OK.
  9. Click the 'Upload' button.
  10. After it is done uploading and the page finishes loading, click on the file's name so you can get the URL to put in your code.

PROBLEM SOLVING:
Q:I didn't use one of the free sites that you suggested, I used my own account on Angelfire. The image still will not show in my guild. Why not?
A: Some sites do not allow hotlinking, which is when you upload an image to their server then try to use it on another server (Neopets). The following are some of those that do not allow hotlinking with free accounts: Geocities.com, Angelfire.com and Esmartstart.com, but there are many others, as well. So be careful what you choose if you don't use one of the two sites I suggested.
